“The Evolution of Postal Volumes Between the USA and France in the 1800s"”

Today (1.8.2024) I have started this Postal History -exhibition collection about Transatlantic mail between France and USA from scratch.

This is already the fourth collection of mine focused on Transatlantic mail, and this time the theme is the development of maritime postal volumes between the USA and France during the 19th century.

The purpose of this exhibition collection is to showcase the significant growth of postal volumes between the United States and Europe during the years 1800-1900. Since accurately estimating the volume of mail can only be achieved by focusing strictly on a specific route, I chose the mail that traveled via Paris and Philadelphia to represent and provide insight into the growth of intercontinental mail traffic. To my knowledge, no exhibition collection has yet been created on this topic.

My goal is to create a minimum of a 6-frame collection, adhering strictly to the rules of postal history collecting. In my previous maritime collections, I was somewhat lenient with the rules, which cost me points—now, I am striving for perfection in this area as well. The collection is intended to be completed in time for the 2025 national exhibition and subsequently presented on international stages. I will post completed pages to this site as they become available.
